Weather Policy
How safety decisions, itinerary changes, rescheduling and refunds are handled when weather affects an experience.
1. Safety comes first
The vessel captain, pilot, driver, venue or licensed operator has final authority to decide whether a service can operate safely. Waves N Wishes coordinates communication and alternatives but does not override an operator’s safety decision.
2. Forecasts are not final decisions
Tropical forecasts and local showers can change quickly. Cloud cover, brief rain, isolated showers or a forecasted chance of rain do not automatically make a service unsafe or entitle the client to cancel without penalty. Decisions may be made close to departure using current wind, sea state, visibility, radar, official advisories and local operating conditions.
3. Changes to protect the day
A captain or operator may delay departure, change pickup location, shorten or reorder stops, choose a sheltered route, limit a water activity, substitute a comparable destination or return early for safety. Waves N Wishes will communicate material changes as soon as reasonably possible.
4. If the operator cancels for unsafe conditions
The first options are normally to reschedule, apply the recoverable value as a credit, or select a reasonable substitute. If none is accepted or available, refund eligibility is based on the operator’s terms, amounts recovered, services already performed and applicable law. Non-weather services that remain available are not automatically cancelled.
5. If the client cancels
If the operator confirms that the service can proceed safely and the client chooses not to attend, the Cancellation and Refund Policy applies. Personal discomfort with the forecast, flight disruption unrelated to the booked operator, or inability to reach the departure point does not by itself convert the booking into an operator cancellation.
6. Named storms and government restrictions
When a hurricane warning, airport or port closure, evacuation order or other official restriction prevents performance, Waves N Wishes will coordinate the remedies made available by the affected operators. Travel insurance is strongly recommended because credits or refunds may not cover flights, accommodation or other separate losses.
7. Guest preparation
Guests should provide a reachable mobile number, monitor messages before departure, arrive as instructed, bring sun and rain protection, and disclose any mobility or medical concern that weather or sea motion may affect.
